A Fork in the Road: Comerç 24 (Barcelona, Spain)

During a recent trip to Spain, we visited Comerç 24, Catalian cuisine from Carles Abellan (Welt tip: Abellan is a pupil of El Bulli's Ferran Adrià). His training in molecular gastronomy is the basis for his tapas creations.

The grey, modern interior is eye-appealing and a perfect atmosphere when you are seated for a 3-hour lunch. Yet the focus remains on one thing: the food.

The following are just a few of the 15 tapas dishes we tasted that day (12 October).

Sardines with orange and fresh wasabi

Codfish with romesco and carquinyolis

Tuna tartar with egg yolk

Chiavari Red Mullet

Autumn Sirloin

Natural "Nestea", Sablee with pineapple and meringue, Nougat with tuille cigar, chocolate and coffee

Sheep milk yogurt with apple and raspberries & Bread, oil, chocolate and salt

Petitfours
